SAFETY INFORMATION |
When arranging a Firework Display Celebration Fireworks asks each customer to complete a simple booking form, when that is returned and preliminary checks are complete a site visit will be made. All bookings are accepted subject to a clear risk assesment.
This does not however remove the responsibility of the event organisers to ensure the safety of their event.
We particularly ask that at weddings, those members of the wedding party who know about the plans for fireworks, ensure that children are not allowed to venture to close to the display area.
Our firing teams have been trained by U.K. specialists and all our staff are briefed in firework safety. Our firing teams are equipped with full Personal Protective Equipment for their safety, and we request that the safety and firing zones are closed to the public during setup, firing and clearance work. Also, we ask that there are no private fireworks allowed onsite. Bonfires are to be closely supervised and should be sited at least 70 meters from the firing area or remain unlit until after the fireworks have been fired.
We can provide safe alternatives to sparklers if requested.
The minimum safety distances from Audience to Fireworks are 25 meters for display fireworks available to the general public and a minimum of 50 meters for professional fireworks.

ORGANISING AND FIRING A DISPLAY:Preparation is important and it is advisable to set up a small team with each member having a defined responsibility to organise their part of the display. In advance, remember to inform the fire brigade and police, (and for sites near the coast, the coastguard) about your display. Fire extinguishers, buckets of sand and water should be available on the night with team members trained to use them. Bonfires should be in a safe distance down wind of the firework area and must be supervised at all times. Never use inflammables to start the fire and under no circumstances dispose of used or unused fireworks on the bonfire.
The order in which the fireworks are used is very important if the audience is to get maximum enjoyment from the display. It is a good idea to start the display with a volley of noise or bang rockets to get the attention of the crowd. Follow this with rockets then a set piece, then a sequence of candles mines or cakes with loud noise and reports. Repeat this sequence to suit. The finale should be an impressive combination of noise and colour. This is only a suggested firing order and by no means rigid. Remember to keep the display moving, so the visual impact is not lost. Always light fireworks at arms length, and under no circumstances lean over a firework. Never go back to firework if it fails to ignite.
